Slow Beginnings for 2023

You will be forgiven for thinking that we may have packed up and gone away as this is our first post for 2023 and it's March already.

For our friends and supporters living outside Australia, you may not know that many businesses close completely over Christmas, New Year and for most of January. It's summer and everyone goes away on vacation, so trying to get a building permit or request a quote from a contractor is just not possible.

However, although we have nothing to show for our work in February, we can assure you that things have been happening. We have had an onsite meeting with our landscape architect who has scoped out the planning work to develop the landscape drawings and maintenance proposals we need towards the first phase of the garden development.

We have also had an onsite meeting with an earthmoving contractor and the Council Development Engineering Officer to plan and design the two crossovers to ensure that we meet the needs of MCP while adhering to the regulations. Work cannot begin on the property until we have crossovers to allow access for equipment and materials.

At the same time, there have been consultations with the company supplying the large colorbond shed that will become the activity centre, and with both the designer and the engineering company who will design and execute the fit out of the shed/activity centre.

From now on we expect to have more activity to report on and pictures to post as the the work begins to make Mark's Country Place the garden we have envisaged.

Thank you for the words of encouragement. Re reading them again gives us the heart to move forward knowing that we are doing what we are called to do. It will take time, but every little step is a step closer to the finish line.
