Academia and Mark's Country Place to Collaborate
Things seem to be moving at a very slow pace right now, although generally speaking, in a forward direction which is encouraging. We have received some estimates for the work we are planning to do in stage one which are the car park, the amenities building, the veggie garden and the orchard.
On a more positive note, we have been in discussion about a collaboration with The University of Melbourne, specifically regarding a mixed group of students who will be doing an elective subject in their second semester called Placemaking for the Urban Environment. "This subject examines the placemaking process about the long term benefits of place by strengthening the relationship outcomes between place, self, community and nature. Placemaking is a way of shaping spaces to create meaningful experiences"
We are looking forward to welcoming the students who will be coming to Mark's Country Place in August for a field trip. They will be studying the site and the plans we have for future development. While we hope this will help the students better understand the needs of the "other abled" in their design plans of the future, we're looking forward to learning from them too. We will post a report after their visit, so watch this space!
The weather has changed here, winter has certainly arrived. The photo below is from a recent frosty morning looking across from where the car park will be towards the proposed amenities building.

We have commissioned some renditions of what the future of Mark's Country Place will look like. The first is a view that a visitor arriving at the car park would see (similar position to the earlier photo of the frosty morning).

The second is an aerial view from above the proposed maintenance area at the Sebastopol Road side of the property, looking towards Mt Macedon.

Keep up the good work
